Hi everyone!
I want to introduce you to The Workbench, Leatherman’s new blog made just for you, covering topics from DIY to the outdoors.
Of course, we’re also offering up tool tips and tricks for Leatherman users and fans around the world, just like you.
I’m Ben Rivera, President and CEO of Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. I’ve been working at Leatherman for over 25 years. What gets me out of bed every day, you ask? Tool Tales. Stories from people who use our products to save steps, save the day, and sometimes even save a life. I truly love to hear how we helped people make a difference, and how we then become an extension of their persona.
I’m excited to introduce you to our new blog, the Workbench. The Workbench will have useful advice for every kind of Leatherman user; everything from interviews with famous DIY-ers, to fun, easy-to-accomplish crafts and projects. We’ll talk about outdoor life hacks and helpful guides, and interview professionals who use Leatherman tools every day. We’ll have Tool Tales and incredible stories shared with us from Leatherman fans from around the world. We’ll have stories on life and everyday projects, household tips and tricks, and fix-it-yourself how-to’s.
Not finding something you want? Email us at theworkbench@leatherman.com, and we will try our hardest to find an expert either in our factory or out in the field to write on a subject that interests you. We’ll also be writing a monthly column that will address specific technical questions from Leatherman users and questions about what we’re up to at Leatherman HQ and in our factory. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll work with my team to tap their brains and get an answer for you.
Blogs and forums are great, but it sounds like you’re wanting to hear it from the source—so here we are. Each month we’ll read through submitted questions and choose one or more to answer. If you’ve got a question for us, submit it to theworkbench@leatherman.com and we’ll consider it for future months.
I’ve watched Tim Leatherman’s dream go from an idea, to a product, to a company, to a brand. I hope to take the decades of experience from Tim, myself, and our team here in Portland, Oregon, and pass it on to you in the form of thoughtful, well-researched articles.
So stay tuned! In the coming months, I’ll be taking questions and answering all that I can! Submissions for future articles are open, feel free to email us anytime at theworkbench@leatherman.com.
Speak soon,
Ben Rivera
